Softsound Media is an audio post-production studio specializing in non-linear mixing and sound design for digital television programs, dramas, series, and online shows on YouTube, as well as radio spots and radio programs. Q: Why do I need mixing?
A: On-set sound and OB (outside broadcast) systems on shoots often have noise/room tone and uneven levels. Mixing balances dialogue, music, and effects, reduces noise/reverb, controls peaks, and matches channel/platform specs so everything is clear and consistent.
Q: How much can you fix bad audio?
A: We can reduce noise, hiss/hum, clicks/pops and mouth noise; tame some reverb; repair audio issues; and smooth out levels.
Q: Do you support Thai TV level specs?
A: Yes. We conform to each station’s peak targets such as 0, -3, -6, -9, or -12 dB (per the specified scale, e.g., dBFS/PPM)—with true-peak control and quality control (QC) to prevent overs. We can deliver multiple level versions from a single mix.
Q: Can you deliver to LUFS standards for YouTube or other flatforms?
A: Yes—EBU R128/ATSC A/85 and platform targets (typically around -14 LUFS, -1 dBTP for online). We can provide a LUFS master alongside peak-based TV versions.
Q: What files should I send to start?
A: Separated audio tracks/stems (WAV), an OMF/AAF or Audition SESX session, a reference MP4/H.264 video, timecoded notes, and the station/platform spec. Please disable clip effects and include room tone.
Q: What will I receive?
A: Full mix (Music & Effect lines, voice lines can be send if needed) station-specific level versions (e.g., -3 dB and -12 dB), preview videos. Files can be sent via email.
Q: What’s the typical turnaround?
A: 30-second commercial: 1–2 days; 3–5 minute video: 2–3 days; 45–60 minute program/drama/series: 3–5 days, depending on complexity. Rush service available.
Q: How do revisions and pricing work?
